Lifetime doctor number
The lifelong physician number , short LANR is a nine-digit number that the competent physicians' association nationwide to every doctor and psychotherapist awards, which at the contractual medical care (see also GKV ) participates. It is by the contract physician Law Amendment Act (VÄndG) together with the establishment number required (BSNR) for each kassenärztliche practice in Germany legally and have become necessary due to the flexibility of the contractual medical activity. LANR and BSNR have been in effect since July 1, 2008 and together replace the old KV account numbers.
While the lifelong doctor number was previously only used for the mostly outpatient contract doctors of the statutory health insurance associations, from 2019 it will also be allocated to all doctors working in hospitals. This means that - at the latest in the case of clinical work as part of the specialist training course - every doctor is assigned a lifelong doctor number.
background
The LANR applies for the entire duration of the contract medical activity ("lifelong"), regardless of the place of activity, status or membership in professional associations . It is awarded to the following doctors and psychotherapists, among others:
- Registered contract physicians and psychological psychotherapists with their own practice
- in cash practices or medical care centers employed doctor
- authorized doctors
- Emergency doctors
- Doctors in charge of a laboratory or doctors employed in the laboratory
- Generally to all doctors who bill the KVen for services to the statutory health insurance patients
A doctor can also have several LANRs if he belongs to several specialist groups - however, the first seven digits of the LANR cannot be changed.
construction
The LANR has 9 positions:
- 6 positions clearly identify the doctor for life (numbers 1–6)
- 1 digit for the check digit (number 7)
- 2 digits for the specialist group code, which differentiates between supply areas, specialist areas and priorities (numbers 8-9)
The check digit (number 7) is calculated using the modulo 10 method using digits 1–6 of the doctor's number as follows: The first six digits are multiplied by 4 and 9 alternately, starting from the left. The sum of these products is divided modulo 10. The difference between the result of this modulo division and 10 gives the check digit (if the difference is 10, the check digit is 0).
The National Association of Statutory Health Insurance Physicians generates the first seven digits of the doctor's number and defines the system of the physician group code (see Appendix 2 of the guideline of the National Association of Statutory Health Insurance Physicians according to Section 75 (7) SGB V on the allocation of doctor and business premises numbers).
The following subject group codes are used:
function
For example, the doctor's case is identified via the LANR as part of the billing process and permits for the provision of personal, quality-assured services are controlled.
