Lenka Faltusová

Lenka Faltusová (born June 24, 1979 in Lanškroun ) is a former Czech biathlete .

Life

Lenka Faltusová started biathlon in 1992. The sports teacher from Jankovice started for the SKP Jymbolx belonged to the Czech national team from 2000 to 2006. Her international debut was Faltusová in 1998 at the Junior World Championships in Jericho , where she was 15th in the individual. The following year, a seventh place with the relay in Pokljuka was her best result. The following season , the Czech competed in Osrblie for the first time in the biathlon world cup . She finished 77th in a single. In 2001 she took part in the European and World Championships for the first time. At the European Championships in Haute-Maurienne , seventh place with the relay was the best result, at the World Cup in Pokljuka she was 32nd in the individual. Faltusová needed until the last World Cup station in Östersund in the 2002/03 season to collect World Cup points for the first time. There she was able to collect points in all three races, individual (25th), sprint (22nd) and pursuit (21st). At the subsequent European Championships in Forni Avoltri , Faltusová won silver with the Czech relay, which also included Zdeňka Vejnarová , Irena Česneková and Kateřina Holubcová . The following world championships in Khanty-Mansiysk were less successful for them .

The next noteworthy result of the sportswoman was fifth place in the individual at the 2004 European Championships in Minsk . In the 2004/05 season , Faltusová achieved her best World Cup result in an individual race on the Holmenkollen in Oslo as 19th in the individual. At the end of this season she won another medal, bronze, with the relay at the European Championships in Novosibirsk . Eleventh places in the sprint and pursuit rounded off a good result. At her last World Championship in Hochfilzen, she achieved her best World Championship result in 29th in the individual. Completing Faltusová's winter career were her only two starts at the Olympic Games . In Turin she competed in the sprint (32nd) and in the pursuit (36th). Her career ended after the world championships in summer biathlon , which took place in Ufa in 2006 . After winning the bronze medal in the sprint, she barely missed another medal as fourth in pursuit. In the following season she could not start due to an injury and ended her active career after the season.
