Leo Korn

Leo Korn (born August 19, 1958 in Innsbruck ; † November 30, 2008 there ) was an Austrian singer.

Life

At the age of 6 he learned the violin at the Conservatory in Innsbruck , an offer from the pianist Rudolf Buchbinder to the Vienna Boys' Choir was turned down by Korn's father. He learned the commercial profession of music dealer and played part-time at parties and events. In 1976 he won an international Polygram talent competition in Seefeld with the title hot like the sun . Leo Korn then became a professional musician and began a distance learning course in measurement and control technology. His stage work as a lead singer and guitarist began in 1972, when he founded the band Speed ​​limit . In 1980 a record was made with the group Nightlights at Koch Records in Lienz, the recorded title was called Crystal Eyes . In 1987 Korn founded the group Curacao and released the singles Time Up For Love and Yiasou .

Korn also worked as a producer. He worked with Steve Young, Semino Rossi , Sabina Kent (opera singer), Ingo Rotter ( ORF presenter ), Sandra Cruise, Mariko and Tyrol Express and produced for EMI , BMG Ariola , Koch International , Vm Records. He produced advertising music for the DEZ shopping center and the Tiroler Sparkasse. The album Du meinfühl produced with Semino Rossi achieved gold status in Austria .

Korn completed tours through Europe , Spain , Sweden , Switzerland , Italy , Belgium , the Netherlands and Germany . He performed with Jackie Jackson , Michael Jackson's brother , and Milli Vanilli .

As a result, two albums with Curacao (You and 2nd album) were created in the late 1980s, and three CD albums as a solo artist in the 1990s.

He also appeared as lead singer and bassist with the Tyrol Express and the Tiroler Spatzen. He also produced the music for a cabaret by the well-known cabaret artist Otto Grünmandl .

As a composer he was responsible for titles such as Ich bin ein Musikant or Wandee my love goodbye . At the young age of 19, he had a failed marriage behind him. His daughter from his second marriage, Marion Korn, works as a singer.

On November 30, 2008, Leo Korn died unexpectedly in his place of residence.
