Leolima ( Leo-Lima , Tetum for five villages ) is an East Timorese place and Suco in the administrative office of Hato-Udo ( municipality of Ainaro ).

The place

Leolima is located in the north of the settlement center of Hato-Udo around the Lagoa Lebumulua , at an altitude of 351  m . There is a primary school and a permanent helipad in the village.

A total of 5360 people live in the Suco (2015), of which 2720 are men and 2640 women. The population density is 41.3 inhabitants / km². There are 940 households in the Suco. Over 80% of the population state Mambai as their mother tongue. Almost 7% speak Bunak , 5% Kemak , 4% Tetum Prasa and a small minority Tetum Terik .

The Suco Leolima forms the west of the administrative office Hato-Udo. In the west are the Ainaro administrative office with the Sucos Soro , Suro-Craic and Cassa , and the Suco Raimea ( Zumalai administrative office , municipality of Cova Lima ). At a narrow point in the north, Leolima meets the Suco Mauchiga ( administrative office Hato Builico , municipality of Ainaro). In the northeast lie the Sucos Rotuto and Grotu (administrative office Same , municipality Manufahi ) and in the east Leolima borders the Suco Foho-Ai-Lico, which also belongs to Hato-Udo . In the south lies the Timor Sea. The Belulik flows along the western border of Leolima , and the border to the Manufahi municipality in the east is largely formed by the Aiasa River. On the border with Cova Lima, the Belulik feeds several lakes, including the Lagoa Oebaba .

Before the 2015 regional reform, Leolima had an area of ​​124.76 km². Now there are 129.69 km², whereby there were no major shifts in the boundary.

Most of the villages are located in the center of the settlement around the Lagoa Lebumulua, along the southern coastal road that runs a little further inland here, or on the small road that leads from the lake to the north of the Sucos. The settlement center includes, in addition to Leolima, the places Aimerleu ( Aimerlau , Aimerliu ), Ainaro-Quic ( Ainaro Quic , Ainaro Kii ), Dausur ( Ausur ), Bismata , Goulau ( Gou-lau ), Groto , Hato-Udo , Hutseo ( Hutseo 1 ), Hutseo 2 , Lesse ( harvest ), Luro ( Luru ), Nuno-Boco ( Nunu-Boco , Nonuboka ), Rae-Soro ( Raesoro ), Raisoro and Suro-Craic ( Surukraik , Soro-Craic ). According to the official document Diploma Ministerial 9/2004 , Ainaro Quic is an aldeia of the neighboring Sucos Foho-Ai-Lico. Maps show Ainaro Quic on the border on the Leolima side.

In the north, near the Belulik river, is the place Raibere and near its mouth in the southwest, the place Bonuc ( Bonuk ).

In addition to the primary school in Leolima, there are also primary schools in Groto, Dausur, Lesse, Bismata, Hutseo 2 and another in the southwest between Hutseo 2 and Bonuc. A preparatory school for the secondary level is located in Hato-Udo. There is a community health center in Hato-Udo and a health post in Bonuc.

The ten Aldeias Aimerleu , Dausur , Goulau , Groto , Hutseo , Lesse , Luro , Nuno-Boco , Rae-Soro and Suro-Craic are located in Leolima .

history

Company A of the pro-Indonesian militia Mahidi operated in Leolima in 1999 . Its commander was Cesário Tilman .

In January 2008, 7000 seedlings were planted in the village of Bonuc in Suco as part of a reforestation program .

politics

In the 2004/2005 elections, António Soares was elected Chefe de Suco and confirmed in his post in 2009. In the 2016 elections , Mariano de Almeida won .
