Leomar Antônio Brustolin (born August 15, 1967 in Caxias do Sul ) is a Brazilian clergyman and Roman Catholic auxiliary bishop in Porto Alegre .

Life

Leomar Antônio Brustolin studied philosophy at the University of Caxias do Sul and Catholic theology at the Pontifical Catholic University of Rio Grande do Sul . On December 20, 1992, he was ordained a priest for the diocese of Caxias do Sul .

After further studies, he obtained a licentiate in systematic theology at the Jesuit Faculty in Belo Horizonte in 1993 . From 1997 to 2000 he studied in Rome and was at the Angelicum for Doctor of theology doctorate . He was then professor of theology at the Pontifical Catholic University of Rio Grande do Sul, where he also organized the licensing courses in theology, and headed the Theological Center in Caxias do Sul.

Since 2001 he was also cathedral priest at the Cathedral of Santa Teresa d'Avila in Caxias do Sul.

Pope Francis appointed him auxiliary bishop in Porto Alegre and titular bishop of Tigava on January 7, 2015 . The Archbishop of Porto Alegre, Jaime Spengler OFM , donated him the episcopal ordination on March 25th of the same year. Co- consecrators were the Bishop of Caxias do Sul , Alessandro Carmelo Ruffinoni CS , his predecessor Nei Paulo Moretto and the Bishop of Montenegro , Paulo Antônio de Conto .
