Leopold Wurzinger

Leopold Wurzinger  (* 1921 in St. Gotthard im Mühlkreis ; † December 14, 2011 in Linz ) was an Austrian judge and President of the  Supreme Court .

Life

Leopold Wurzinger was born in 1921 on a small farm (house name Weinzierl) in Obereschelberg in the municipality of St. Gotthard in the Mühlkreis . At the age of seven he moved to his aunt in Puchenau , where he attended school. With financial help from Puchenau's headmaster Lugmayr, Wurzinger attended high school in St. Florian , where he graduated with distinction in 1940. After the Second World War , which he survived unharmed, he studied law at the University of Graz . Wurzinger began his judicial career at the Linz Labor Court . Between 1983 and 1986 he was President of the Supreme Court in Vienna . After retiring, he was President of the Supreme Patent and Trademark Senate for five years . In 2011, Wurzinger died in Linz at the age of 90.
