Leopoldo Lara y Torres

Leopoldo Lara y Torres (born November 15, 1874 in Quiroga , Michoacán , Mexico , † November 20, 1939 in Tacámbaro ) was a Mexican clergyman and Roman Catholic bishop of Tacámbaro .

Life

Leopoldo Lara y Torres received in 1895 in the Catedral de las Monjas in Morelia by the Archbishop of Michoacán , José Ignacio Árciga Ruiz de Chavez , the sacrament of Holy Orders .

On December 23, 1920 Pope Benedict XV appointed him . to the first bishop of Tacámbaro. The Archbishop of Michoacán, Leopoldo Ruiz y Flóres , donated him episcopal ordination on June 29, 1921 in the Cathedral of San Jerónimo in Tacámbaro ; Co- consecrators were the Bishop of León , Emeterio Valverde y Téllez , and the Bishop of Querétaro , Francisco Banegas y Galván .

Leopoldo Lara y Torres resigned as Bishop of Tacámbaro on April 18, 1933. Then Pope Pius XI appointed him . as titular bishop of Halicarnassus .
