Levente Hozó (born August 24, 1975 in Miercurea Ciuc ) is a former Romanian ice hockey player and current coach, who spent his entire career at HSC Csíkszereda , for whom he played in the Romanian and Hungarian ice hockey leagues and the MOL league .

Career

Club

Levente Hozó, who belongs to the Hungarian-speaking Szekler minority in Romania , spent his entire career at HSC Csíkszereda in his hometown. With the traditional club of the Szekler in Miercurea Ciuc he won the Romanian championship title in 2000, 2004, 2007, 2008 and 2010 . In 2001 , 2003 , 2007 , 2008 and 2010 he also won the Romanian cup competition with the HSC. He was also able to win the Pannonian League , a competition between Southeast European teams, with the club in 2004 . In addition to his appearances in the Romanian league , he played with the HSC from 2006 to 2008 in the Hungarian league and then until 2010 in the multinational MOL league . He ended his career in 2010, but briefly returned to the ice for the playoffs in the Romanian league in spring 2015.

International

Hozó played internationally in contrast to other Szeklers who compete for Hungary , for his native Romania . He was already active in the junior sector at world championships: in 1992 and 1993 he took part in the U18-B-European championships. He then played at the U20 B World Championship in 1994 and the U20 C1 World Championship in 1995 .

Hozó made his debut in the men's national team at the 1998 World Cup . Also in 1999 and 2000 he played in the C group of the World Championships. Then he was only considered for the national team again ten years later and took part in the 2010 World Cup in Division II.

Coaching career

After Hozó had ended his career in 2010, he was assistant coach of the Romanian national team in Division I at the 2012 World Cup . In the 2013/14 season he was assistant coach of HSC Csíkszereda in the MOL league .
