Levente Lőrincz (born January 5, 1986 in Miercurea Ciuc ) is a Romanian ice hockey player who has been playing at CSM Dunărea Galați in the Romanian ice hockey league since 2013 .

Career

Club

Levente Lőrincz, who belongs to the Hungarian-speaking Szekler minority in Romania , began his career at HC Csíkszereda , for whom he first played in the Romanian ice hockey league and in 2007/08 in the Hungarian ice hockey league. In 2009 he and his team won the first MOL league . When HC Csíkszereda broke up after winning the title for financial reasons, Lőrincz switched to SCM Fenestela 68 Brașov (since 2010: ASC Corona 2010 Brașov ), where he played mainly in the MOL league but was also used in the Romanian league. After winning the Romanian ice hockey cup with the team from Kronstadt in 2013 , he moved to CSM Dunărea Galați for whom he is on the ice in the Romanian League and with which he won his and the club's first Romanian championship title in 2015 . In 2016 he was able to successfully defend the title with his club and also win the cup again.

International

Lőrincz plays internationally in contrast to other Szeklers who compete for Hungary , for his native Romania . He was already active in the junior division at world championships: he took part in the U18 world championships in 2003 in Division II and in 2004 in Division I as well as in the U20 World Championships in 2004 , 2005 and 2006 in Division II.

However , Lőrincz only made his debut in the men's national team at the 2015 World Cup in Division II, where he was promoted to Division I, in which he played at the 2016 World Cup . He also represented his colors in the Olympic qualification for the Winter Games in Pyeongchang 2018 .
