Li Meisu

Li Meisu ( Chinese  李梅 素 , Pinyin Lǐ Méisù ; born April 17, 1959 in Hebei ) is a former Chinese shot putter .

After she was eliminated from the qualification at the World Athletics Championships in Helsinki in 1983 , she already reached fifth place at the Olympic Games in Los Angeles a year later . At the World Athletics Championships in Rome in 1987 , she was seventh.

Li celebrated the most important success of her career at the 1988 Olympic Games in Seoul. With a width of 21.06 m she won the bronze medal behind Natalja Lissowskaja (22.24 m) and Kathrin Neimke (21.07 m).

After that, Li only appeared again internationally in the late 1990s. After she failed in qualification at the 1996 Olympic Games in Atlanta, she reached sixth place at the 1997 World Athletics Championships in Athens.
