Sui Xinmei (born January 29, 1965 in Shāndōng ) is a former Chinese shot putter .
In 1991 she won the gold medal at the World Indoor Championships in Seville with a width of 20.54 m in front of her compatriot Huang Zhihong and the Russian Natalja Lissowskaja . In the summer she was tested positive for anabolic steroids at the Universiade and then banned for two years for doping .
The greatest achievement of her career was winning the silver medal at the 1996 Olympic Games in Atlanta . With a width of 19.88 m she only had to admit defeat to the German Astrid Kumbernuss .
She also won the Asian Games twice (1990 and 1994) and was once Asian champion (1995) and Chinese champion (1995). In addition, she won the silver medal at the East Asian Games in 1997.
Sui Xinmei was 1.72 m tall and had a competition weight of 90 kg.
