Liao Yu-Cheng (born November 16, 1992 ) is a Taiwanese ice hockey goalkeeper who has played for the Silver Monster in the Chinese Taipei Ice Hockey League since 2008 .

Career

Liao Yu-Cheng began his career as a hockey player with the Silver Monster club , for which he still plays to this day. In 2014 he was with the team of Taiwanese champions.

International

In the junior division, Liao played for Taiwan at the U18 World Championships in 2008 , 2009 and 2010 and at the U20 World Cup in 2011 in Division III. He also represented the island republic at the U20-IIHF Challenge Cup of Asia 2012 .

With the Taiwanese men's selection , Liao first took part in the IIHF Challenge Cup of Asia in 2013 , 2014 when he had the lowest conceded goal rate of the tournament, 2015 and 2016 , when he had the lowest conceded goal rate as well as the best catch rate of the tournament. He was able to win the title with his team. In 2017 he played for the first time at the Winter Asian Games and the World Cup in Division III , when he was voted the tournament's best goalkeeper.

At the 2017 Division III U18 World Cup , he was assistant coach for the Taiwanese team.
