Liaozhong ( Chinese 辽 中 区 , Pinyin Liáozhōng Qū ) is a municipality in the sub-provincial city of Shenyang in the north of the Chinese province of Liaoning . It has an area of 1646 km² and at the end of 2017 had 456,182 inhabitants.

Liaozhong has a continental climate with an average annual temperature of 8.7 ° C. Winters are cold with an average temperature of −10.5 ° C in January and summers are hot with average July temperatures of 24.4 ° C. About 648.1 millimeters of precipitation fall annually, with the summer months of July and August bringing the most moisture. There are about 173 frost-free days and 2775 hours of sunshine per year.
Liaozhong has nearly 90,000 hectares of arable land and an abundant 10,000 hectares of forest. 17,000 hectares of land are used for settlements, industry and mining, almost 6,000 hectares are used for transport facilities and 20,000 are used for water.
population
As of the end of 2017, a resident population of 456,182 was determined. In 2017 there were 2,768 births and 5,471 deaths, 2,251 people emigrated and 995 people immigrated. The population of Liaozhong is therefore shrinking slightly. In the 2000 census, there were still 501,627 inhabitants in 160,640 households, of which 256,688 men and 244,939 women.
The 2010 census found that Liaozhong was home to 29 national minorities . Of the 26,494 minorities, the Manchu (19,899 people), the Hui (2,779 people), the Mongols (2,540 people), the Xibe (925 people), and the Koreans (194 people) are the most important.
Administrative structure
At the community level, Liaozhong consists of four street districts , 16 large communities and a state farm as of 2018 . These are:
- Street districts Pudong (蒲 东 街道), Puxi (蒲 西 街道), Ciyutuo (茨榆坨 街道), Chengjiao (城郊 街道)
- Large communities Yujiafang (于 家 房 镇), Zhujiafang (朱家 房 镇), Lengzipu (冷 子 堡镇), Liu'erpu (刘 二 堡镇), Xinmintun (新民 屯镇), Manduhu (满 都 户 镇), Yangshigang (杨士 岗镇), Xiaozhaimen (肖 寨门 镇), Changtan (长滩 镇), Sifangtai (四方 台 镇), Liujianfang (六 间 房 镇), Yangshipu (养 士 堡镇), Panjiapu (潘家 堡镇), Laodafang (老大 房 镇), Daheigangzi (大 黑 岗 子 镇), Niuxintuo (牛 心 坨 镇)
- Sifangtai State Farm (四方 台 农场).
