Libertów is a village with a school administration office of Gmina Mogilany in the Powiat Krakowski of the Lesser Poland Voivodeship in Poland .

history

The place was first mentioned in 1322 as Luberowice , and then as Libhertow , Lambertow , Lubertowicze . The name was originally patronymic (end of word - (ow) ice), then possessive (-ów) derived from the name Libert .

During the first partition of Poland in 1772, Libertów became part of the new Kingdom of Galicia and Lodomeria of the Habsburg Empire (from 1804).

In 1918, after the end of the First World War and the collapse of the Austro-Hungarian monarchy, Libertów became part of Poland. This was only interrupted by the occupation of Poland by the Wehrmacht in World War II . It then belonged to the General Government .

From 1975 to 1998 Libertów was part of the Kraków Voivodeship .

traffic

The state road DK 7 runs through Libertów, part of the very busy so-called Zakopianka , which connects Kraków with Zakopane .
