The Liberty Township is one of 10 townships in Cape Girardeau County in the southeast of the US -amerikanischen state of Missouri .
geography
The Liberty Township is about 35 km west of the Mississippi , which forms the border with Illinois . The mouth of the Ohio near Cairo at the intersection of the states of Missouri, Illinois and Kentucky is about 90 km southeast.
The Liberty Township is located at 37 ° 15'47 "north latitude and 89 ° 50'20" west longitude and extends over 66.26 km², which is spread over 65.63 km² of land and 0.63 km² of water.
The eastern border of Liberty Township is formed by the Whitewater River , which flows into the Headwater Diversion Channel at Whitewater in the neighboring Hubble Township to the east . This also forms the southern border of the township. In the center of the township is the Lake Girardeau Conservation Area , a 139 hectare recreational area.
The Liberty Township borders within Cape Girardeau County in the north on the Kinder Township , in the east on the Hubble Township and in the south on the Welch Township . To the west, the township borders on Bollinger County .

No trunk road runs through the township. There are a few paved county roads and a number of unpaved driveways.
The nearest airport is Cape Girardeau Regional Airport, around 35 km east of the township .
population
At the 2010 census , the township had 439 residents. In addition to scattered settlement, there is the community-free settlement of Crump not far from Lake Girardeau .
