Lichtena post mill

Post mill 1977

Lichtena has a long history of mills. The earliest mention of a windmill comes from the 17th century. In 1678 the miller Martin Mirtzsch had to pay the windmill interest here.

In 1740 the tax table of the Dobrilugk office also contains a second existing windmill in Lichtena, which belonged to the feudal judge estate. This is the post mill that still exists today. The year this mill was built is dated to 1650. It originally had a grinding and a shot passage. The historic building is now a listed building and is one of the oldest windmills in the region.

In the center of Lichtena there is also a memorial to the fallen in the form of a stele with several inscriptions on a square base. It serves to remember the villagers who died in both world wars.
