Liimala is a village ( Estonian küla ) in the rural municipality of Lüganuse ( Luganuse vald ). It is located in Ida-Viru County ( East Wierland ) in northeast Estonia .

Description and history

The village has 57 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2012). It is right on the Gulf of Finland .

In the past, almost the entire village lived from fishing in the Baltic Sea . During the Soviet occupation of Estonia, a fish processing combine was established in the place . Today Liimala lives mainly from tourism and its bathers.
