Rääsa is a village ( Estonian küla ) in Ida-Viru County ( East Wierland ) in northeast Estonia . Since October 2013 it has been in the rural community of Lüganuse ( Lüganuse vald ). Until its formation it was in the rural community of Maidla ( Maidla vald ).

Description and history

The village has 34 inhabitants (as of 2000).

Rääsa is a forest village typical of the area. In 1769 the village school of Rääsa was founded.

Archaeologists have uncovered an underground cemetery south of the school building, which indicates an early settlement. It is under state protection of cultural property.
