Lin Huiyang (born January 6, 1998 ) is a Chinese skeleton pilot .

Career

At the end of the 2015/16 season , Lin Huiyang made her international debut in the North American Skeleton Cup . On March 5, 2016, she finished 15th in Park City . In Lake Placid she took part in the last two races of the North American Cup on March 17 and 18. She finished twelfth in both competitions on the Mount Van Hoevenberg Olympic bobsled run . With these three placements she collected 78 points and was only 19th in the overall ranking. In the 2016/17 season she made her debut in the European Skeleton Cup and finished 24th in her first races in this series on November 10, 2016 in Innsbruck . After taking 23rd place after the turn of the year on January 12, 2017 in St. Moritz , it started on January 19 in Altenberg and was able to place it in the top 20 for the first time with 18th place. One day later, she finished 16th in the second race in the DKB-Eiskanal, her best result of the season. At the end of the season she finished 34th in the overall ranking of the European Cup with 51 points.

After she did not take part in any IBSF- listed races in the 2017/18 season , she competed in the European Cup , North American Cup and Intercontinental Cup in the 2018/19 season . After Whistler finished 15th and 14th in the two North American Cup competitions on November 7th and 8th, 2018, she made her debut in the Intercontinental Skeleton Cup in Innsbruck a week later . On November 15, 2020, she took 20th place in her debut at the Igls bobsleigh rink . One day later she finished 20th again in the second race in Innsbruck-Igls . After she took part in the European Cup in Königssee before the turn of the year and only finished twentieth and 19th in the competitions on December 6th and 7th, she was able to finish ninth for the first time after the turn of the year on January 24th, 2019 in Lake Placid to achieve a top ten placement in the Skeleton Intercontinental Cup. A day later, she finished 13th in the second competition on the Mount Van Hoevenberg Olympic bobsleigh run . At the end of the season, she finished 14th in the overall ranking of the Intercontinental Cup 2018/19 with 401 points . On February 3, 2019, she took part in the 2019 Skeleton Junior World Championship at Königssee . She finished 17th in her first participation in a skeleton junior world championship . She was able to secure a quota place at the Bobsleigh and Skeleton World Championships through her results . She finished 22nd at the 2019 World Championships on the Whistler Olympic track .

Thanks to the performance of the previous season, the Chinese team was able to secure two quota places for the Skeleton World Cup . Before Lin Huiyang made her debut in the World Cup, she took to get started with the season 2019/20 on skeleton Nordamerikacup in Lake Placid part and finished the race on November 21, 2019 to sixth place. On December 7th, she made her debut in the Skeleton World Cup at the first World Cup race of the season on the Mount Van Hoevenberg Olympic bobsleigh track . She finished the competition in 23rd place. A week later she finished 23rd again in the second World Cup race in Lake Placid. After the turn of the year, she was able to take a place in the top 20 for the first time on January 10, 2020 in La Plagne with 19th place. A week later she finished 16th at the World Cup in Innsbruck, her best result of the season in the Skeleton World Cup. At the end of the season she finished 22nd in the overall World Cup for the 2019/20 season with 427 points. In addition, she qualified again for the Bobsleigh and Skeleton World Championships and took 13th place in the individual competition after four runs in Altenberg at the Bobsleigh and Skeleton World Championships 2020 . On April 1, 2020, she and Yan Wengang took part in the first-ever mixed skeleton competition as "China I" and finished the competition on the ENSO ice track in sixth place.
