Lindchen , in Lower Sorbian Lindow , is a place in the Oberspreewald-Lausitz district in southern Brandenburg . The place is part of the municipality of New Zealand , which belongs to the Altdöbern office . Lindchen is located in the Lower Lusatia northwest of Welzow and is part of the official settlement area of ​​the Sorbs / Wends . history

Lindchen was first mentioned in 1462 under the name "Lindo". The place was characterized by agriculture and animal husbandry. In 1898 the agricultural scientist Julius Kühn bought the Lindchen estate and turned it into an experimental farm. Here he investigated the possibilities of improving the cultivation of agricultural crops on very light sandy soils.

On January 1, 1974, the place Leeskow was incorporated into Lindchen. In the course of the Brandenburg municipal area reform, the New Zealand municipality was formed on February 1, 2002 from the municipalities of Lubochow , Ressen and Bahnsdorf and Lindchen.
