Lindsay Burns

Lindsay Burns (* 6. January 1965 in Big Timber , Montana ) is a former American lightweight - rower .

In 1987 the American lightweight four-man without helmsman with Sandy Kendall , Lindsay Burns, Angela Herron and Mandy Kowal won the title at the World Championships in Copenhagen . Three years later Burns competed with Holly Brunkov in the lightweight double scull and won silver at the 1990 World Championships behind the Danes. In 1991 in Vienna Burns and Teresa Zarzeczny received silver behind the German boat. In 1993 Burns finished fourth in the lightweight double scull at the World Championships on the Račice rowing channel . In 1994 Burns and Zarzeczny won bronze at the World Championships in front of their home crowd in Indianapolis . At the 1996 Olympic Games in Atlanta , lightweight rowing was part of the Olympic program for the first time. Teresa Bell and Lindsay Burns won both their preliminary and their semi-finals. In the final, the Romanians Constanța Burcică and Camelia Macoviciuc won with almost two seconds ahead of the two Americans.
