Link's Crossbow Training (OT: Japanese リ ン ク の ボ ウ ガ ン ト レ ー ニ ン グ , Rinku no Bōgan Torēningu ) is a video game from the Japanese game and console manufacturer Nintendo for the Wii platform. The game has been distributed since December 7, 2007 together with the accessory "Wii Zapper". description

The lightgun accessory Wii Zapper , which is included with Link's Crossbow Training .

The content of the game is, depending on the game progress, shooting at stationary, moving or attacking targets for points. You get more and more points as long as you don't miss a target between shots. Initially, the player only has to aim and fire from a fixed position in the play area; occasionally Link moves independently on fixed paths; later the game figure can also be moved freely. The shot from the crossbow is rechargeable to fire an explosive arrow, there is also the option to get a short-term faster fire mode. In some parts of the game it is important to protect certain targets from attacks by opponents. In the multiplayer mode up to four people take turns in the game and try to achieve the highest number of points.

The GameCube / Wii title The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess : The shooter is portrayed by Link , the protagonist of that game, as the backdrop for the game , and the shooting areas are based on the Zelda title. Opponent figures and non-player figures also come from the title.

Reviews hailed the game as an entertaining treat. The replay value lies in beating your own point record and earning appropriate awards for each section of the game. The game was generally found to be short, but the length is appropriate for the purchase price. The Wii Zapper itself received rather subdued reviews. It doesn't add anything to the gaming experience, and some critics also judged it to be a hindrance.
