The Legend of Zelda: Oracle of Seasons (English for Oracle of the Seasons ; ゼ ル ダ の 伝 説 ふ し ぎ の 木 の 実 大地 の 章 , Zeruda no Densetsu: Fushigi no Ki no Mi: Daichi no Shō , literally: The legend of Zelda: The fruits of the Tree of Mysteries: Earth Chapter ) and The Legend of Zelda: Oracle of Ages ( English for Oracle of the Ages or according to the German game text Oracle of the Time ; Japanese ゼ ル ダ の 伝 説 説 ふ し ぎ の 木 の 実 時空 の 章 , Zeruda no Densetsu: Fushigi no Ki no Mi: Jikū no Shō , literally: The Legend of Zelda: The Fruits of the Tree of Mysteries: Space and Time Chapter ) are two video games by Capcom from 2001 , which were developed for the Game Boy Color . They belong to the game series The Legend of Zelda by the Japanese company Nintendo . The special thing about the games that appeared at the same time is the ability to link them with a password. The player receives this password when he has played one of the two games. If he then starts the second game and enters the password, additional storylines and game content are unlocked. However, this is not necessary, the two parts are already fully-fledged, stand-alone games.
action
The Legend of Zelda: Oracle of Seasons
The vile General Onox kidnaps the "Oracle of the Seasons", the dancer Din , and banishes the Temple of the Seasons and the staff of the four seasons kept there to another world. Without Din and the staff, the weather in the Land of Holodrum turns into a mess, and Link goes to the rescue. To do this, he has to find the eight “essences of nature” in order to restore the mighty maku tree to its old strength.
The Legend of Zelda: Oracle of Ages
The evil sorceress Veran captures the "Oracle of Time", the singer Nayru . With their help, she wants to change the past in order to gain power over the land of Labrynna forever . Link - protagonist of the game - has to find the eight "Essences of Time" in order to save Nayru and Labrynna with the help of the maku tree .
Joint act
When playing through one of the two parts, the player receives a 20-digit password. He can enter this at the beginning of the second part and continue the adventure with the old game in the other world. A game started in this way shows some changes compared to the normal game, for example some objects are in different places. In addition, the storyline is expanded to include an additional thread that connects the events of the two games. The player learns that the main antagonists of the two parts, the sorceress Veran and General Onox , are in fact serving the goal of awakening a monster named Ganon . The character Ganon is the main villain in numerous other games in the Zelda series and is considered the arch enemy of the hero Link . Even Princess Zelda from which the whole of The-Legend-of-Zelda series takes its name, appears only in the password-related game.
It doesn't matter which of the two games is played first. The additional action is identical in both parts and is added to the game that the player starts second. Officially, Oracle of Seasons is placed before Oracle of Ages in terms of content.
background
- The games sold together around four million times.
- Developed by Capcom and distributed by Nintendo, these two Game Boy Color titles appeared simultaneously in 2001. Since the games can be connected, but this is not mandatory, the parts were sold individually. So it is possible to play only one of the two parts.
- While in Oracle of Seasons you can influence the same with the staff of the seasons, in Oracle of Ages you travel through time with the harp of time. Also new are different mounts with which Link can get to different places, as well as various rings with different powers. The player sees everything from a bird's eye view, technically the games are based on The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening , which was released in 1993 for the Game Boy .
- At the beginning of the conception of the games, a third part was planned. However, this was rejected due to technical difficulties. In April 2008, the alleged complete map material for the game was put online as an April Fool's joke. It turned out that the cards and all of the names were made up by fans.
