The Legend of Zelda: The Minish Cap ( Jap. ゼルダの伝説ふしぎのぼうし, Zeruda no Densetsu: Fushigi no Boshi , literally: The Legend of Zelda: The cap of Miracles ) is a video game from Capcom in the year 2004 , which was 12. November 2004 in Europe for the Game Boy Advance .

    action

Princess Zelda is petrified by Vaati, an evil demon who is looking for the Force . Link sets out again to save her and in the course of his journey finds the talking pointed cap Ezelo , which has the magical ability to make the wearer shrink. Ezelo is actually a magician and Vaati's teacher. He was bewitched into this hat shape by his student when he caught him stealing the hat of wishes . It fulfills its wearer's every wish, which is why Vaati became a witcher. Link then comes across the Minish people in miniaturized form , who support him on his journey from now on. He can also unite fragments (in the form of coins split in half) that can be used to create different events. The real goal is to restore the sacred sword of the Minish with the help of the four elements after Vaati had destroyed it. In the final battle, Link comes too late and Vaati receives the power of the Force , which is supposed to turn him into a godlike being - in fact, however, a demon emerges, with which his form has adapted to his dark being. Ultimately, however, Link can seal him in the Sword of Four and save Zelda.

With this, Ezelo also regains his true form. He says goodbye to Link and Zelda and returns to his homeland. Link receives a real green pointed cap as a parting present.

    Manga

Under the title of the same name The Legend of Zelda: The Minish Cap , the game was officially adapted as a manga by the mangaka duo Akira Himekawa in 2006 . Unlike in Four Sword Adventures , the comic graphic style of the template game was adopted. TOKYOPOP published the manga in Germany in 2010.

The plot is almost identical to what happens in the game. Vaati is afraid of his complete transformation into a demon and is turned back into a minish. Without the cap of wishes he is no longer a threat, regrets his actions and returns with Ezelo forever to the world of the Minish. Without the consistent ending of the game, there is no reference to the Four Swords saga.

    background

    • The biggest innovation is the aforementioned opportunity to shrink and explore new areas in this way. In addition, new items of equipment such as the magic jug appear in the game , which open up more playful possibilities.
    • Graphically, the game is similar to Four Swords , the player sees everything from a bird's eye view .
    • Various hints in the game itself and some statements by the developer, according to the chronological context of the game, it is the first Zelda game in the Four Swords saga.
    • Furthermore, through the introduction of the Minish people, a clever solution to the question of the origin of the objects that are often found under bushes and grasses is presented.
    • The game has sold a modest 1.2 million times by the usual standards of the game series, although it was sold together with a gold-colored special edition of the Game Boy Advance SP .

    Republication

The Legend of Zelda: The Minish Cap was released in December 2011 in the eShop of the Nintendo 3DS mobile console , where it can be downloaded free of charge and exclusively for first-time buyers as part of the so-called ambassador program .
