A link to the past
action
A Link to the Past is about the young Link who has to find the master sword , a sacred weapon, in the land of Hyrule in order to confront the evil wizard Agahnim , who wants to open the seal to the shadowy world and let his master Ganon into the realm of Hyrule . In the further course Link travels to the shadow world to free the descendants of the Seven Wise Men, who originally created the seal, from their captivity.
Innovations
In addition to minor changes such as the added battle cries of the game character or an additional shop in the shadow world, the remake of the game, originally published in 1991, contains an additional maze that becomes accessible when Four Swords and the main plot of A Link to the Past are played through.

Four swords
With Four Swords , a Zelda game for two to four players has appeared for the first time . Four Swords is designed so that the puzzles can only be solved in cooperation with the other players. Therefore, the game cannot be played alone. If fewer than four players are involved in the game, the tasks are adapted so that they can be solved with fewer players. The areas are randomly generated with every game. The game is connected to the other players using the GBA link cable . The players control links dressed in different colors and have to cooperate to solve the puzzles, but at the same time they are in competition with each other when collecting rubies. The players see everything from a bird's eye view.
action
The story is about the wind magician Vaati, who was included in the sword of the four (English ': Four Sword ). By breaking the seal, Vaati escapes and kidnaps Zelda to marry her. To save them, Link takes the sword of the four, whereupon the sword with Link splits into four different links. Each pawn is assigned to one of the colors green, red, blue or purple. Together they now have to go to the fairy of the forest, the fairy of ice and the fairy of fire so that they give the quadrupled hero the keys to Vaati's palace in order to stop the darkling.
Republication
The Legend of Zelda: Four Swords Anniversary Edition was released on September 28, 2011 for download on the Nintendo DSi mobile console and its successor, Nintendo 3DS . On the occasion of the 25th anniversary of the Zelda series, the game was available for free until February 20, 2012. An important new feature of the Anniversary Edition is the addition of a single player mode.
From January 30 to February 2, 2014, The Legend of Zelda: Four Swords Anniversary Edition was also available for free in North America from the eShop for Nintendo 3DS .
Reviews
The portable remake of a classic and the novel multiplayer mode were very well received by the fans. ADVANCE magazine, for example, gave the game a 98% rating. The Nintendo World Report rated Zelda: A Link to the Past & Four Swords with 10 out of 10 points. The only downside: At least one acquaintance must also have this title in order to be able to play "Four Swords". The game module sold around 2.7 million times.
