Lisa Ulrika Gunnarsson (born August 20, 1999 in Stockholm ) is a Swedish pole vaulter .

Athletic career

Lisa Gunnarsson was born in Stockholm, but lived in Argentina and Luxembourg until 2011 and has lived in France ever since. In 2013 she started pole vaulting and quickly enjoyed great success. In 2015 she took part in the Swedish Indoor Championships for the first time and finished fifth there. In the same year, she also took part in the U20 European Championships , where she was fifth at the age of 16. Furthermore, she won the silver medal at the European Youth Olympic Festival and the bronze medal at the Swedish championships in 2015. In 2016 she also won the bronze medal at the French indoor championships and in May set a new youth world record of 4.50 meters. At the European Championships in Amsterdam in 2016 , she failed in qualifying. A week later she was seventh at the U20 World Championships in Bydgoszcz, Poland, with a jump of 4.10 m. She also became French champion, where she equaled her own record with 4.50. At the Swedish championships she won the bronze medal.

In 2017 she achieved sixth place in the final at the European Indoor Championships , where she improved her own world record to 4.55 m. In addition, she became French indoor champion and again won the bronze medal at the Swedish indoor championships. At a meeting in Blois in June 2017, she equalized her record of 4.55 meters outdoors and qualified for the World Championships in London . At the U20 European Championships in Grosseto , Italy , she won the gold medal and thus her first medal at a major event. At the World Championships she was eliminated with 4.35 m in qualification . In 2018 she won the silver medal behind the Czech Amálie Švábíková at the U20 World Championships in Tampere with 4.35 m . So she qualified for the European Championships in Berlin , where she was eliminated with 4.35 m in the preliminary round.
