Lisa Gunning

Lisa Gunning (born June 15, 1972 in Kowloon , Hong Kong ) is a British film editor .

Career

Lisa Gunning studied English Literature at University College London . She later worked on commercial post production for The Whitehouse company .

In 1998 she met director Anthony Minghella while editing a commercial for the charity Comic Relief , with whom she subsequently worked on other commercials and short films, and whom she also supported in the editing of promotional material for his film The Talented Mr. Ripley . In 2006, Minghella commissioned her to edit his film Breaking and Entering - burglary and theft . As a result, she edited other feature films for directors such as John Madden and Lasse Hallström .

In 2009 she worked for the first time with director Sam Taylor-Wood for the John Lennon biopic Nowhere Boy . In 2014 she worked again with Taylor-Wood on the literary film adaptation of Fifty Shades of Gray .

For the 2013 released album Tales of Us by the band Goldfrapp , Gunning made a series of music videos, which together resulted in a 30-minute short film.

Private life

In an interview with the Sunday Times in February 2010, musician Alison Goldfrapp announced that she was in a relationship with Gunning.
