biography

Agerer lives in Nauders in the Austrian state of Tyrol , but starts for the Italian association . The daughter of a South Tyrolean and an Austrian has dual citizenship and graduated from the sports school in Mals .

In December 2006 Agerer first took part in FIS races , the first victory followed three months later. From next winter she also started in the European Cup , but initially she did not achieve any results worth mentioning. In the 2009/2010 season her results improved, especially in the giant slalom. In this discipline she was able to score consistently and for the first time achieve placements in the top ten. At the Junior World Championship 2008 in Formigal , Agerer achieved twelfth place in the Super-G. A month later she reached second place in the giant slalom at the Italian Championships. She could not take part in the 2009 Junior World Championships. After a knee injury, she had to take a break from racing for several weeks in mid-February. In 2010 her best results at the Junior World Championships were 16th in the combination and 18th in the giant slalom.

Agerer's first start in the World Cup was on October 24, 2009 in the giant slalom on the Rettenbachferner in Sölden . In the next two years she only made a few more World Cup appearances and initially remained without points. At the beginning of the 2010/11 European Cup season , the 19-year-old surprised when she celebrated her first victory in the giant slalom in Kvitfjell . Two weeks later she also won the giant slalom in Limone Piemonte . With another two podium places and a total of 15 top 10 results, she came second in the overall European Cup ranking and first in the giant slalom ranking. At the Junior World Championships 2011 in Crans-Montana , she won the silver medal in the giant slalom and achieved two further top 5 placements with fourth place in the combination and fifth in super-G.

On November 26, 2011, Agerer won her sixth World Cup race, the giant slalom in Aspen , finishing 17th for the first time. In February and March 2012, she won eight European Cup races in a row (one Super-G, three downhill runs, four giant slaloms). With that she won the overall European Cup as well as the downhill and giant slalom rankings. She achieved her best World Cup result so far on March 9, 2012 with 7th place in the giant slalom in Åre . Due to back problems, she was subsequently unable to build on these results. In the 2013/14 World Cup winter, it was classified only once in the points and in 2014/15 it was only used in FIS races and in the European Cup.

After a few injuries that kept her slow, she announced her retirement from active ski racing on August 11, 2018.
