1 Liestal BL Feb. 27, 2019 On February 27, 2019, the residents' council of Liestal ( canton Basel-Landschaft ) passed a resolution on the climate emergency. The initiative obliges to consider the impact on the climate in all transactions.
2 Olten SO 29th March 2019 On March 29, 2019, the city of Olten ( Kt. SO ) declared a climate emergency. The aim here is to stop emitting greenhouse gases by 2030.
3 Wil SG 16th May 2019 On May 16, 2019, Wil ( Canton of St. Gallen ) declared a climate emergency.
4th Bern BE May 27, 2019 On May 27, 2019, the Bern municipal council declared a climate emergency, or at least pretended to be. 2004
5 Tuna BE June 27, 2019 On June 27, 2019, the Thun City Council declared a climate emergency. 1995
6th Koeniz BE 16th September 2019 On September 16, 2019, the large municipal council (parliament) declared the guideline “Climate emergency in the municipality of Köniz” to be significant with 25 votes to 12.
7th Kriens LU 26th September 2019 On September 26, 2019, the Kriens residents' council (legislature) decided on the climate emergency.
8th Lugano TI October 6, 2019 On October 6th, the city parliament of Lugano adopted a resolution on “emergenza climatica”.
9 Locarno TI October 14, 2019 On October 14, 2019, the city parliament of Locarno adopted a weakened resolution. A stronger application had previously been rejected.
10 Burgdorf BE December 9, 2019 On December 9, 2019, the city council of Burgdorf decided on the climate emergency at the request of the municipal council (executive).

1 Canton of Basel-Stadt Feb. 20, 2019 On February 20, 2019, the Grand Council of Basel (Kt. BS), the cantonal parliament of the third largest city in Switzerland, declared a “climate emergency”. This is not legally binding, but the resolution was passed with 71 votes in favor, 17 against and 6 abstentions. Baselstadt is the first Swiss regional authority to take such a decision. 1993
2 Canton of Vaud 19th March 2019 On March 19, 2019, the canton of Vaud declared a climate emergency with a large majority. SVP representatives in particular were skeptical .
3 Canton of Jura March 27, 2019 On March 27, 2019, the parliament of the canton of Jura declared the climate emergency.
4th Canton Zurich May 13, 2019 On May 13, 2019, the parliament of the canton of Zurich referred two proposals to the government council with the aim of declaring a climate emergency. 1993
5 Canton Bern 4th June 2019 On June 4, 2019, the Grand Council of the Canton of Bern does not want to declare a climate emergency, but give priority to all those business that can mitigate climate change. In addition, climate protection is to be anchored in the canton's constitution.
6th Canton lucerne June 24, 2019 On June 24, 2019, the Lucerne Cantonal Council declared a climate emergency.

The government council of the canton of Thurgau does not declare a climate emergency because it does not want to pursue a symbolic policy . Instead, he wants to set up a cantonal coordination office for "Climate Change" in order to work out specific climate protection goals from now on (May 17, 2019).
