List of mayors of Dautphetal

This list shows the mayors of the municipality of Dautphetal in Hesse and of the formerly independent municipalities that were merged into the newly formed large municipality of Dautphetal as part of the territorial reform in 1974. These are Allendorf , Buchenau , Damshausen , Dautphe , Elmshausen , Friedensdorf , Herzhausen , Holzhausen , Hommertshausen , Mornshausen , Silberg and Wolfgruben .

Administrative structure

Before 1821 the municipalities were headed by a mayor . This was determined by the respective landlords or sovereigns and represented them to the community. The community leader or mayor, on the other hand, was the community representative to the mayor. At the same time, however, the mayor was authorized to give instructions to the mayor.

After the Hessian municipal constitution is the Mayor Chairman of the Municipal Executive Board , the next to the Mayor nine volunteer in the community Dautphetal Associate members. Bernd Schmidt ( FW ) has been mayor since 2004 . His last directly elected predecessors were

Buchenau

Mayor (since 1974)

Andreas Feußner ( CDU ) has been the mayor of Buchenau since the last local election in Hesse on March 26, 2006. Before that, Karl-Heinz Grebe (SPD) was mayor until 2006, from 1974 his father Heinrich Grebe (SPD), who was previously mayor of Buchenau.

Mayor from 1821 to 1974

The Großherzoglich-Hessische Gemeindeordnung von 1821 provided for the possibility of forming so-called communal local associations, which were headed by a joint mayor, if the conditions were met. The villages of Eckelshausen , Katzenbach , Kombach and Wolfgruben chose this form and had a joint mayor's office between 1821 and 1895.
