Karl Huth

Karl Huth (* 1914 in Biedenkopf - Dexbach ; † September 7, 1989 in Dautphetal-Wilhelmshütte ) was a German homeland researcher in the Hessian hinterland .

Life

Karl Huth grew up in Biedenkopf.

His main job was as a board member for the Biedenkopf district and later for the Marburg-Biedenkopf district .

He was a member of the Association for Hessian History and Regional Studies (VHG) eV Kassel and was for a long time on the board of the Hinterland History Association , a branch of the VGH.

Huth wrote a number of publications on the Biedenkopf district as well as the communities and cities in this region.

As a district administrator, he traveled to the district of Biedenkopf in 1954/55 together with the state curator of Hesse, Hans Feldtkeller , to support its creation of the short inventory of the architectural and art monuments of the district of Biedenkopf .

Compared to the majority of local history researchers, who primarily address a local object of observation, Huth devoted himself to a larger context in his work. His monographs are characterized by their completeness and objectivity and follow the principles of scientific work .

Honors

On December 17, 1984 Huth became the first and so far only honorary citizen of the large community of Dautphetal .
