The village of Mornshausen ( Mornshausen an der Dautphe or Mornshausen a. D. in contrast to Mornshausen a. S. located in the same district area ) is a district of the large community of Dautphetal in the central Hessian district of Marburg-Biedenkopf .

history

The place was first mentioned around 1291 as Moroldeshusen in a monastery charter . The Amelose residential area belongs to Mornshausen and was first mentioned under this name in 1515. At this point was the place Enchesgeseß, which was first mentioned in 1374. From the 17th century the term amelose seems to have gained acceptance.

The statistical-topographical-historical description of the Grand Duchy of Hesse reports on Mornshausen in 1830:

"Mornshausen on the Dautphe (L. Bez. Gladenbach) evangel. Branch village; is located 2 hours from Gladenbach, as well as on the Chaussee from Biedenkopf to Giessen, has 39 houses and 242 Protestant residents. The Ameluse farm and 1 grinding mill belong here. The former name of Mornshausen is Morludisshusen , and the place was parish off to Dautphe as early as the 15th century. "

Territorial reform

1 July 1974 at Mornshausen was in the context of municipal reform in Hesse with 11 other municipalities powerful state law to the new greater community Dautphetal together . Local districts were set up for all formerly independent municipalities .
