List of Mayors of New York City
The New York City Mayor List provides an overview of all the elected and acting mayors of New York City since 1665.
If no elected mayor is available to exercise the rights and obligations of the mayor due to death, resignation, impeachment , incapacity or lack of eligibility, another city official will serve as provisional mayor until the by-election .
All governors or directors of the previous Nieuw Nederland , based in Nieuw Amsterdam , from which today's New York City emerged, between 1624 and 1664 are included in the list of governors of Nieuw Nederland .
