Ensemble village center Grünenbaindt

Grünenbaindt town center1.jpg

The ensemble includes the historically built-up area of the village of Grünenbaindt. It is one of the characteristic central Swabian clearing settlements of the 14th century, the backbone of which is an approximately 750 meters long east-west facing road axis that slopes sharply to the east. On both sides there are about 25 old properties, mostly of a rural character, lined up close together. The settlement's medieval layout has been impressively preserved; The gables of the residential stables meet the street fronts uniformly and at approximately equal intervals. These are two-storey plastered gable roof buildings, built in the later 19th and early 20th centuries; they have replaced the older ground floor buildings. At the two ends of the town there are also individual eaves side houses. A house garden is subordinate to every property; the delimitation of the garden areas from the fields is clearly defined, it is the boundary of the ensemble on the north and south sides of the settlement. In the middle of the avenue rises the parish church of St. Peter and Paul, which is surrounded by the cemetery and dates back to the late Middle Ages. Together with the parish hall, it sets a monumental accent in the townscape. Similarly, the rectory from 1733 stands out from the farm estate. Due to the east-west gradient, there are impressive street scenes with dense staggered gables. File number: E-7-72-131-1

Remarks

  1. This list may not correspond to the current status of the official list of monuments. The latter can be viewed on the Internet as a PDF using the link given under web links and is also mapped in the Bavarian Monument Atlas . Even these representations, although they are updated daily by the Bavarian State Office for Monument Preservation , do not always and everywhere reflect the current status. Therefore, the presence or absence of an object in this list or in the Bavarian Monument Atlas does not guarantee that it is currently a registered monument or not. The Bavarian List of Monuments is also an information directory. The property of a monument - and thus the legal protection - is defined in Art. 1 of the Bavarian Monument Protection Act (BayDSchG) and does not depend on the mapping in the Monument Atlas and the entry in the Bavarian Monument List. Objects that are not listed in the Bavarian Monument List can also be monuments if they meet the criteria according to Art. 1 BayDSchG. Early involvement of the Bavarian State Office for Monument Preservation according to Art. 6 BayDSchG is therefore necessary in all projects.
