Ensembles
Center of Frickenhausen am Main
The ensemble includes the place enclosed by the fortification ring including the trench zone in front of it in the east, the area formerly used for silting up to the threshing floor and the cemetery in the south. - The market town, which is surrounded by a late medieval defensive wall with towers, is shaped in its structural appearance by the characteristic economic structure of the small main towns, which has been handed down since the Middle Ages : a petty bourgeois fishermen and ship's settlement , consisting of small houses built closely together in narrow lane systems directly on the river, connected to the Group of stately residential and commercial buildings laid out on the slope and loosened up by gardens from the vineyards that have been famous since Salian times. The through road parallel to the Main runs between these two differently structured halves of the village from gate tower to gate tower with numerous inns, hackers' and craftsmen's houses. In the center of the village, as a testimony to the regional market rights that have been handed down since 1406, there is a market square with a baroque Marian column and the building block that is free-standing on all sides, consisting of the church and the late and post-Gothic town hall that emerged from the former Wurzburg Saalhof. The essentially late medieval residential buildings were rebuilt and reshaped in large numbers, especially in the 17th and 18th centuries: gable and eaves-sided, two-story plastered buildings, often with half-timbered upper floors that can be plastered or exposed, with saddle, hip or Mansard roofs; Among them, some baroque buildings from the early 18th century with richly structured facades have stately features. Numerous House figures and shrines give the local picture for the Franconian bishoprics particularly typical religious component. Boundary: Obertorstrasse 1 - corridor numbers 273/2, 273, 271, 275 - Güßgraben - continuation of the Güßgraben in a straight line to the Main - Mainufer up to the level of the Dreschplatz - Weingartenstrasse from Ochsenfurt Strasse to Uppentalstrasse. File number: E-6-79-131-1.

Remarks
- ↑ This list may not correspond to the current status of the official list of monuments. The latter can be viewed on the Internet as a PDF using the link given under web links and is also mapped in the Bavarian Monument Atlas . Even these representations, although they are updated daily by the Bavarian State Office for Monument Preservation , do not always and everywhere reflect the current status. Therefore, the presence or absence of an object in this list or in the Bavarian Monument Atlas does not guarantee that it is currently a registered monument or not. The Bavarian List of Monuments is also an information directory. The monument property - and thus the legal protection - is defined in Art. 1 of the Bavarian Monument Protection Act (BayDSchG) and does not depend on the mapping in the monument atlas or the entry in the Bavarian monument list. Objects that are not listed in the Bavarian Monument List can also be monuments if they meet the criteria according to Art. 1 BayDSchG. Early involvement of the Bavarian State Office for Monument Preservation according to Art. 6 BayDSchG is therefore necessary in all projects.
