Bucherbach castle ruins The castle was built on an approximately square floor plan and has an inner side length of around 40 meters. It had four round corner towers about ten meters in diameter. The first documented mention of Bucherbach Castle can be found in a contract of inheritance from the Counts of Saarbrücken-Commercy from 1326. Under Philip II, the castle was comprehensively renovated in the middle of the 16th century, and in 1627 the fortress became part of the Thirty Years' War devastated by imperial troops. A reconstruction followed as early as 1645, but the facility was burned down again. In 1740 the castle was described as dilapidated: 'The walls and towers were preserved, but the roof was missing.' The ruin was renovated for the first time in 1930, followed by a thorough renovation in 1983/84. Köllerbach Castle Bucherbach 08.JPG

Hexenturm, 1341–54 (individual monument) For a long time the witch tower was considered a relic of the medieval moated castle in Püttlingen. However, excavations in autumn 2002 revealed that the Hexenturm was not a castle tower, but stood outside the castle walls and was built as a prison tower. In the underground part of the tower contained a well room and a small dungeon. The Püttlingen bailiff Thomas Königsdorfer imprisoned 14 women from Püttlingen and Obersalbach around 1580/1600. He accused her of witchcraft and had her burned after a trial. Hexenturm Püttlingen 01.jpg

Former Railway station, station reception building, general cargo hall, platforms, underpass and platform roof, 1910 (individual monument) The former train station in Püttlingen is very similar to that in Heusweiler , but here it is still completely preserved with the half-timbered general cargo hall. The station was built in 1910 on the Lebach – Völklingen railway line based on a Prussian model book for train stations. The steep, asymmetrical dwarf house is striking. The entrance hall, waiting rooms and the signal box were located on the ground floor, while the station master's residence was located on the upper floor. In 1985 the station was closed. The building was renovated in the early 1990s and has been used as a restaurant and cultural center ever since. Püttlingen Former train station 01.JPG
