List of the bishops of Trieste
There is evidence that the city of Trieste has been the seat of a bishop since the 6th century. Due to the early veneration of Saint San Giusto and the pronounced liturgical and ecclesiological organization of the Christian community in this century, it is assumed that the northern Italian city had a bishop earlier ( see also Diocese of Trieste ).
