The basement and ground floor are separated by a simple cornice. The ground floor is followed by two upper floors and a converted attic. The ground floor, which is structured with finely embossed natural stone blocks (plaster) and bordered by a strong cornice, appears as a mighty substructure of the building. In the course of the cornice between the ground floor and the first floor, the entrance area is crowned by a triangular gable. The segmental arched window openings on the ground floor were given keystones with a console. The keystone of the entrance, which ends with a segmental arch, was decorated with a man's head sculpture. The upper floors are characterized by strong framed windows. The windows on the first floor were also given crowning lintels. The area of the upper floors is closed off by a strong cornice. Lukarnen rise above it according to the window axes. The clinker building, typical of the time, is structured by three projections. The risalites are emphasized by pilasters. The windows of the central risalit were given a crowning triangular gable on the first floor and an extended window frame on the second floor. The frieze below the cornice was decorated with a relief. The central risalit is crowned with a pilaster-framed porthole. The side elevations are characterized by a widened facade axis. A side elevation has closely placed pairs of windows. The second over widespread windows with plastered mirrors in relief underneath. The design effort of the high-quality Wilhelminian style building formed an essential facet of the architecture before 1900. This fact gives rise to the historical significance of the hotel “Zur Mühle”, Alexander-Puschkin-Platz 7 in Riesa. In addition to its testimony to the architecture of the late 19th century, the property to be assessed here is also of importance in terms of urban development history. In connection with the surrounding buildings, it documents the urban expansion of Riesa during the 19th and 20th centuries. In terms of local historical significance, the former office building of the Hübler-Mühle, as well as its later conversion as a hotel, has historical significance for the economic development of Riesa. The public interest in preserving the building at Alexander-Puschkin-Platz 7 results primarily from its exemplary value for the architecture of the period after 1850 and from historicism and the fact that such buildings are listed as monuments nationwide and also by large parts of the population as such be accepted. (LfD / 2011.) Three floors, side elevation, later passage, ground floor plastering, upper floor clinker facade, strong window frames, original: |

1911 | In service until 1992, used to transport grain via suction lines, a remarkable and probably also rare monument to the history of technology, comparable facilities also in Dresden's Alberthafen , probably no longer preserved there
Produced in 1911 by Mühlenbauanstalt und Maschinenfabrik, formerly Gebr. Seck (Dresden), commissioned in 1912 by Gustav Emil Müller, out of service in 1992, the grain was evidently transported between ships arriving on the Elbe and the silo of one of the two mills located directly on the bank (Schönherr- Mill or Hübler mill), ten tons per hour, the location is said to have been the port, but ships could also dock directly in front of the mills (as a historical photo shows) |

re. 1828 | with a shop, a simple plastered facade with a beautiful segmented arch portal and built-in shop fitting in the Wilhelminian style, a building that characterizes the old town center and is of major architectural significance.
Grossenhainer Straße 23 in Riesa is a small town building from the first half of the 19th century. The two-story, largely massive residential building with a half-hip roof was built over the door in 1828, according to the dating. As a characteristic structural testimony of its time, it is particularly important in terms of architectural history. Apart from that, the property to be assessed here is one of the houses in the village that illustrate Riesa's gradual development into a town in the 19th century before it was elevated to one in 1859. In contrast to the gable-facing rural buildings in Altriesa, the eaves are already facing the street. The property to be assessed here is therefore also to be assigned an urban development historical value. LfD / 2012. Two storeys, seven axes, plastered facade, house door basket arched portal with keystone marked 1828, shop fitting around 1895 on the right, half-hipped roof, disfiguring lattice-free windows. |

1927 | Distinctive neoclassical building with pilaster strips and gable architecture, the interior of the original structure with entrance area and large cinema room still largely preserved, occasional decor from 1927 and from the renovation in 1955, significant building and local history.
The current building dates, apart from the front single-storey extension, a side extension and the rear extension from 1927. There were different (two) designs and tectures in 1927. Ultimately, the more objective and practical design for the processes in a cinema was carried out. The execution and construction management were in the hands of G. Moritz Förster Baugeschäft and Riesa Elbe shipyard. The changes mentioned, in the first place the front building on the street side, date from 1955. After that there were various minor changes up to the turn. Despite the installation of three more small cinemas after 1990 in the tier area and at the level of the former orchestra pit from the great hall, the basic structure of the house with the entrance area and the great hall was largely retained. In addition, the parapet and the ceiling of the former tier still feature decorations from 1927 and 1955 (renovation). |

Totality of the Royal Saxon Triangulation ("European degree measurement in the Kingdom of Saxony"); Station 35 Weida: triangulation stone | Heidebergstrasse (map) |
re. 1866 (triangulation column) | 1st order station, historical testimony to surveying and state history, located in the old location of Weida.
In the period from 1862 to 1890, a land survey was carried out in the Kingdom of Saxony, in which two triangular networks were formed. On the one hand, there is the network for grade measurement in the Kingdom of Saxony (network I. class / order) with 36 points and the royal Saxon triangulation (network II. Class / order) with 122 points. This national survey was led by Prof. Christian August Nagel, according to which the triangulation columns are also referred to as "Nagelsche columns". This surveying system was one of the most modern layer networks in Germany. The surveying columns set for this purpose remained almost entirely in their original locations. They are an impressive testimony to the history of land surveying in Germany and in Saxony. The system of surveying columns of both orders is in its entirety a cultural monument of supraregional importance. The Weidaer Berg or Heideberg is the northernmost and at almost 165 meters also the highest part of the Weidaer Moraine Ridge, an elevation of the Oschatzer hill country. It consists of ice-age sands deposited by glacial melt water. The pillar was erected at a fork in the road. Today this is a road fork in the Weida district. The 1.8 m high pillar has been preserved at the original location. The inscription on the eastern side can only be guessed at, the pillar is weathered black. There is no longer a cover plate. The fixings on the pier head have been preserved; the screw is unscrewed in the case of an eccentric. The height bolt attached below the writing has been knocked off. The pillar is directly on the road, in the area of the footpath, protected by a fence and wall on the north side. The original views of the neighboring stations are blocked. LfD / 2014. Surveying column on a square ground plan made of Laußnitz granite, height 1.8 m, cover plate no longer available, inscription heavily weathered, illegible, specifications on the column head have been preserved, the screw is unscrewed in the case of an eccentric. The height bolt attached below the writing has been knocked off. The original views of the neighboring stations are blocked. |
