Weida is a district of Riesa and was incorporated on October 15, 1923. Along with Merzdorf , Pausitzer Delle and Karl-Marx-Ring, it is one of the most important prefabricated building locations in Riesa.

education

Since the merger of Manfred-von-Ardenne-Gymnasium and Max-Planck-Gymnasium to form the municipal gymnasium and the closure of the Weida location, Weida no longer has a gymnasium. On the former building of the Manfred-von-Ardenne-Gymnasium there is an observatory , which is used by the Sternenfreunden Riesa eV.
