Böhlen is a district of the Saxon town of Riesa in the district of Meißen .

geography

The village is located southeast of Jahnishausen and rises in the floodplain of the Keppritzbach , a tributary of the Jahna , from 110 meters to 220 meters above sea level (NN). Gostewitz and Heyda are to the east of the settlement, and Prausitz is to the southeast of Böhlen . Kalbitz and Seerhausen are to the west of Böhlen, Plotitz to the southwest and Mehltheuer to the south . The settlement consists of a former sheep farm and a farming hamlet.

history

The place was first mentioned in 1334. The name was changed several times, so the place was called Bulin in 1334 , 1378 Balen , 1454 Bolen , 1547 Bhoelen , 1552 Bollnn , 1555 Boͤlen , 1594 Bohlen, Böhlen, Scheferey and Böhlen b. Riesa in 1875. The name of the place means village of Bol, Bola, a short form of Boleslaw.

The village was deserted for a while and is only shown as a sheep farm on the map of Oeder. In 1594 Böhlen was referred to as a sheep farm. In Jahnishausen and Böhlen, Herr von Schleinitz holds the inheritance court and the higher court, in the other villages he has the inheritance court, the higher court holds the office of Meißen. In 1661 both villages were added together. It is said that they are all very poor people, have low tax rates and, in addition to these tax shocks, also annual hereditary interest on money and grain in that electoral inheritance and procuration from Ambt Meißen item to be removed from Braebende Schännewitz, so the same quality cannot be fully assessed. In 1667 there lived 5 threshing gardeners with gardens of small size, in 1688 5 threshing gardeners with 1/4 hooves and meadows each lived here and in 1705 the same. In 1764 there were 1 × 2½ hooves, two one-half hoofs, five quarters, two eighths, two cottagers, 90 bushels, two quarters of fields, three bushels of meadows. In 1748 there were 7 gardeners and 1 house owner. In 1814 Böhlen belonged to Jahnishausen, in 1827 the farm and the sheep farm were mentioned and in 1890 there were 11 buildings that were inhabited by 107 residents. Then the number of inhabitants of Böhlen was added to that of Jahnishausen. The threshing gardeners developed into smallholders in the 18th century, but especially in the 19th century through land purchases or leases. The church had been parish to Pausitz since at least 1539. From 1930 Böhlen belongs to the Riesa-Pausitz parish. In terms of school, Böhlen was part of Pausitz.

From 1843 Böhlen was administered by the Meißen office, in 1856 by the Riesa court office and from 1875 by the Großenhain office . Saxons came after the Second World War in the Soviet zone of occupation and later the GDR . After the territorial reform in 1952 , Böhlen was assigned to the Riesa district in the Dresden district . Rural life in Böhlen was now based on the principle of agriculture in the GDR . The former sheep farm, built of quarry stone with a high, tiled hipped roof, was expropriated and came into the possession of the Jahnishausen estate. A few years after the land reform, the Böhlens farmers initially merged to form the “ Karl Liebknecht ” LPG . Later they joined the LPG " Florian Geyer " Mehltheuer , which had a part of the business in Böhlen. The council of the former municipality of Jahnishausen had its seat in Böhlen . After the German reunification , Böhlen came to the re-established Free State of Saxony . The following regional reforms in Saxony assigned the district to the Riesa-Großenhain district in 1994 and to the Meißen district in 2008. On March 1, 1994, Böhlen was incorporated into Riesa together with the rest of the community.
