List of cultural assets in Steffisburg

The list of cultural assets in Steffisburg contains all objects in the municipality of Steffisburg in the canton of Bern that are subject to the Hague Convention for the Protection of Cultural Property in the Event of Armed Conflict , the Federal Act of June 20, 2014 on the Protection of Cultural Property in the Event of Armed Conflicts and the Ordinance of June 29 , 2014 October 2014 on the protection of cultural property in the event of armed conflict .

Objects in category A and B are fully included in the list, objects in category C are currently missing (as of January 1, 2018). Among other monuments protected objects are found, the "worthy of protection" in the canton of Bern Bauinventar than are listed.

Cavalry barracks built between 1890 and 1892 and preserved largely unchanged. A two-storey, massive management building with a passage and two L-shaped wing buildings under almost flat gable roofs are grouped around a spacious inner courtyard . A transverse riding hall with an access ramp forms the north-western end .

Architectural ensemble of two representative buildings built next to one another in the late Gothic style. The core of the "small Hochhus" dates back to the 14th century and was converted into a residential building with a high basement and two floors under a steep, bent hip roof in 1555 . The "great Hochhus", which got its present appearance around 1530, dates from the same time. It presents itself as a square building of two residential floors on a high basement base and with a fully hipped roof.

Campagne built in 1794 , the core of which goes back to the 17th century. White plastered building under a bent hipped roof with sandstone structure, portholes and chimneys. The south facade has two rows of slender windows, the east facade presents itself as a two-story peristyle with four colossal columns , the north facade as a two-story arbor with Tuscan columns.

The church building, built in 1681, is a baroque sermon hall with a three-sided closure. Parts of the west wall and a wall in the nave are from a Romanesque previous building dating back to the year 1000. The tower was added in 1320, the spire in 1740. Next to it is the 1738 built rectory , a well-proportioned floor under high kinked hipped roof and with upright rectangular window structure.
