Tele2 Champion

Tele2 (formerly Tele2UTA ) offered landline and internet in Austria and, with Champion, also offered mobile telephony until the mobile phone division was sold. Tele2 Champion (formerly Tele2Mobil) began its price war as a mobile phone discounter, mainly with advertising against the already well-known discounter Yesss! with a lower price per minute. Tele2 offered as an advantage over Yesss! MMS and GPRS , and even roaming if you register by name . In the course of the price war, Yesss reacted! with a contract option where roaming was also possible here by registering by name when signing the contract. Tele2 also used the Orange Austria network. However, the mobile communications division was sold for around EUR 7 million to A1 Telekom Austria, which transferred the around 131,000 former Tele2 customers from what was then One (now Drei) to the Mobilkom Austria network under the discount brand bob. Western Wireless in turn sold tele.ring to T-Mobile Austria after its own takeover by Alltel in August 2005, and Magenta Telekom from spring 2019. The UMTS network of tele.ring was switched off in August 2006, the GSM network was integrated into that of T-Mobile Austria, so that tele.ring no longer had its own mobile network and tele.ring customers now use the network of T- Use Mobile Austria. tele.ring was retained as its own brand, but became the discount division of T-Mobile Austria, with services such as WAP, MMS and broadband internet still being offered, so that the designation as a no frills provider does not apply to tele.ring.

With the purchase of tele.ring, T-Mobile Austria was able to expand its total market share by one million customers, thus catching up with the market leader Mobilkom Austria. Shortly after the release of the Yess! -Prepaid data tariffs, tele.ring started with its own internet offer and was thus the second Austrian mobile communications discounter with its own broadband tariff. This tariff was in contrast to the offer from Yesss! a postpaid tariff with conditions that were similar to those of the major mobile network operators. The UMTS / HSDPA network from Magenta Telekom was used, whereby a maximum download speed was not limited.

The brand was discontinued in 2020 and customers were fully integrated into the structure of Magenta Telekom. The area code was 0650.

UPC Austria started in 2015 as a virtual mobile communications provider under the name UPC mobile. Until the acquisition and merger with T-Mobile Austria in 2018, the network was also used by Hutchison Drei Austria. The area code was 0678.

Vinmobile was an offer from Vin Traders GmbH and used the services of YouMobile and thus the cellular network of T-Mobile Austria. Vinmobile wanted to score with low tariffs for international calls.
