from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The list of stadiums in Gambia is an incomplete listing of sports arenas in the West African state of Gambia .

In addition to the Independence Stadium, there are a number of other football fields on which games of the GFA League First Division and lower leagues are played, but these do not meet international requirements according to the Fédération Internationale de Football Association (FIFA).

Remarks

  1. The name Stade Brikama , which appears on the Internet, cannot be verified or linked to the Independence Stadium.
  2. a b The sources are contradictory with regard to the Box Bar Stadium , partly in Banjul and partly according to Brikama. It is only likely that football matches between national teams are usually played in the Independence Stadium , since this structure has existed.
  3. On the map of Banjul there is a stadium behind the mosque. There is also talk of a former football field on which the mosque was built in 1988. Seen and read in: Jojo Cobbinah : Senegal, Gambia: practical travel guide to the west coast of Africa Meyer, Frankfurt am Main 2001, ISBN 3-89859-103-4 . Also on another map is on the square (where the mosque is now halfway) marked Box Bar Stadium. Seen in: Michael Tomkinson: Gambia, a tourist guide Tomkinson, London [u. a.] 1983, ISBN 0-905500-13-X
  4. The name Banjul Mini Stadium is also used.
  5. Found on the map Banjul Map, Capital Streets of Gambia
  6. Is this field the Banjul Mini Stadium ?
  7. The King George V Memorial Park is shown here on many maps . But it's not a park, but a large, sandy place. Read in: Rosel Jahn: Gambia: travel guide with regional studies; with a travel atlas May, Dreieich 1997, ISBN 3-87936-239-4
  8. ↑ The exact name of the soccer field at the Gambia Senior Secondary School (GSSS) (formerly Gambia High School ) is not known. The GSSS is also on Box Bar Road .
