May 2, 2012 | In memory of Ignatz Gerner and his sons Adolf Sami and Manfred Ignatz and Bella Gerner ran a textile and woolen agency as a storefront, first at Eltviller Strasse 6, later at Dotzheimerstrasse 25. When the Polish Jews were expelled in October 1938, they went into hiding the family with relatives and thus escaped deportation to Poland. On December 27, 1938, Ignatz Gerner had to stop his business, which had previously made little profit due to anti-Jewish agitation. |

The Neumann brothers' business was good until 1933. Then the restrictions of National Socialist policy made themselves felt. On May 31, 1938, the company was dissolved. May 3, 2011 | Fanny Sinay was born on October 20, 1860 in Großblittersdorf / Lothringen. She married the wealthy Emil Joseph in Blieskastel / Saarland. The couple had two daughters: Rosa, geb. September 12, 1882 and Alice, b. February 13, 1888. Fanny Joseph and her daughter Alice Zimpelmann were interrogated several times by the Gestapo on suspicion of espionage for France and alleged foreign exchange offenses and they had to comply with reporting requirements. In March 1943, Fanny Joseph was admitted to the former yeshiva, now a " Jewish house " at Ostendstrasse 18 in Frankfurt. From there she was deported to Theresienstadt on April 12, 1943. She died there on April 5, 1944, at the age of 83. | |

After studying medicine, Daniel Kahn-Hut did his doctorate on cataract treatment; then he practiced in Gotha. In 1933 his health insurance license was withdrawn because of his Jewish origins. Since Dr. med. Kahn-Hut was increasingly exposed to public slander in local newspapers, the patients no longer dared to visit his practice. That same year he was forced to close it completely. In 1934 Daniel and Frieda Kahn-Hut moved to Wiesbaden, Mittelheimer Straße 11. |
