Freyenthurn Castle is located in the west of the city of Klagenfurt on the southern slope of the Falkenberg above the eastern bay of the Wörthersee. It was built around 1541 in the castle-like Renaissance style as a tower-like residence. In 1884 it was rebuilt in the Tudor style.

Maria Loretto Castle is located in the east bay of Lake Wörthersee on a peninsula. In 1650 Johann Andreas von Rosenberg acquired the peninsula and had a large, magnificent castle built in 1652, which was largely destroyed by fire in 1708. The successor building, which was built on an almost square floor plan, is much simpler. The building and the surrounding park, which were completely renovated in 2007, are privately owned but are open to the public.

The hotel was built between 1891 and 1897 by order of members of the Thurn-Valsassina family under the architect Wilhelm Heß . It is an important building of the so-called Wörthersee architecture . The hotel has been owned by a real estate company since 2009. It is currently unused and is already showing signs of deterioration (April 2015).

Also called scrap tower or scrap castle. Erected 1818–1824 by Johann von Rainer-Harbach (client), 67 m high scrap tower with a square cross-section. Lead shot production until 1893. In 1927 a terrace and cafe restaurant (architect: Valentin Miklin) was added, and in 1970 the gastronomy was shut down. The area was only incorporated in 1938 and before that it belonged to Krumpendorf . Formerly part of the Bleiberger Bergwerks-Union . Next to the B83 (as the “first house in Klagenfurt”) on the mountain slope, near the railway and 50 m from Lake Wörthersee. Vacant despite various project plans (September 2014).

The Lend Canal is a four kilometer long artificial waterway that leads from the Wörthersee to the center of Klagenfurt. It was created in the first half of the 16th century as a water supply for the city moat and as a transport route for building and heating material. Today, the Lend Canal, together with the adjacent Europapark, serves as a local recreation area.
