The list of German ambassadors in Australia contains the ambassadors of the Federal Republic of Germany in Australia . The German embassy in Australia was in Sydney from 1952 to 1958 . Then she moved to Yarralumla , a district of Canberra . It also has jurisdiction over Nauru , Papua New Guinea , Solomon Islands and Vanuatu . Before 1952 there was temporarily a general consulate of the German Reich in Sydney, later in Melbourne . It was also responsible for Oceania .
