List of East Timorese ambassadors in Mozambique

This is the list of the East Timorese ambassadors in Mozambique . The embassy is located on Avenida do Zimbabwe, 1532, in the capital, Maputo .

Mozambique was the first country in Africa in which the new state of East Timor set up an official embassy. It was opened on April 13, 2004 by East Timor's Foreign Minister José Ramos-Horta. Marina Ribeiro Alkatiri , the wife of Marí Alkatiri, who was Prime Minister at the time, initially became East Timor's deputy ambassador. The business of the embassy was initially carried out from the Alkatiris' private home. On June 24th, 2009 Marina Alkatiri became the official ambassador of her country. She stayed until May 15, 2014. On May 29, she was followed by Caetano Guterres .
