List of border rivers
This list shows rivers that in parts form a political international border.
Political boundaries are usually in the middle of the river. Border controls are usually carried out on one of the banks; People on the water can be checked by the border guards in the river.

Special features in some countries
Border between Bangladesh and India / Myanmar
Bangladesh has 58 major rivers that are shared with India or Myanmar . International treaties in this regard led to complex diplomatic disputes.
Border between Germany and Luxembourg
In the joint German-Luxembourg territory , the river system Our - Sauer - Mosel forms the border between Germany and Luxembourg (127.979 km of the 135 km border are flowing waters).
Other transboundary rivers
Furthermore, there are rivers that do not form part of an international political border (lengthways), but run straight across a border, for example
- Brahmaputra (Bangladesh - People's Republic of China [1] ) and his arm Kameng (People's Republic of China - Bhutan)
- Danube (Hungary – Croatia)
- Drina (Bosnia-Serbia)
- Nile (Egypt – Sudan).
