Live in the City of Light is a live double album by the Scottish rock band Simple Minds . It was released in May 1987.

Emergence

The recordings for the album were made during the “Once Upon a Time” tour in 1986, mainly on August 12th and 13th, 1986 at Le Zénith in Paris . The track "Someone, Somewhere In Summertime" was recorded in October 1986 at a concert in Sydney , Australia.

The touring line-up of the band from 1986 can be heard on the album. In addition to the regular musicians, they included Robin Clark as the second singer and the percussionist Sue Hadjopoulos. A violin part by Lisa Germano - at the time a band member of John Mellencamp - for "Someone Somewhere in Summertime" was added later in the studio. Former Simple Minds member Derek Forbes contributed (uncredited) bass guitar overdubs.
