biography

Eddie Duffy grew up in Glasgow on the same street as Simple Minds founders Jim Kerr and Charlie Burchill . He met the two of them at a studio appointment with the band Sly Silver Sly after their Simple Minds Neapolis tour . The Simple Minds had split up after the tour, and Kerr and Burchill were looking for new live musicians for a benefit appearance.
Thus Jim Kerr and Charlie Burchill formed the Simple Minds with the musicians Eddie Duffy, Mark Kerr and Kevin Hunter for a short time.

In 1999 the Simple Minds then produced the album Our Secrets Are The Same with Eddie Duffy on bass, who eventually stayed in the band. After the penultimate concert of the 2010 Festival Tour , the "Polo rocks!" in Juchen , Germany, he left the band and was replaced by Ged Grimes for the last concert in Paris.
